On the 26th February we refurbished all our squash courts. We hoped this wouldn't inconvenience everyone too much — the work took a week to complete, but once finished it consolidated our claim to have the best courts, and the friendliest club, in Coventry.
For a few months, Cleaver Squash Club played their team games here on Monday nights after encountering a flooding problem at their own club. If you wish to watch a good standard of squash against various clubs from around the Midlands, everyone is welcome — games start at 7.20pm.
Happy New Year to you all — we hope it's a good one, and we look forward to seeing you at the centre.
After a tumultuous year, we're still here thanks to the local community, our trustees, and the members who supported us through incredibly trying times. We took the opportunity to carry out a complete redecoration and deep clean of the whole club — from the squash courts to the changing rooms, the gym and reception.
With reduced council tax, secured loans and our own money and labour, we replaced the roof membrane and damaged tiles, repainted throughout, replaced old gym machines, fitted new lighting and carpets, refurbished all three squash courts, and repaired the shower and toilet areas. It could now be argued these are the best courts in Coventry.
