Why Squash Here
Squash is three-dimensional and takes a little perseverance to reach a basic standard — but the old idea that it's an elitist game no longer holds. Being a pay-as-you-go club keeps it affordable, we're in a good central position with easy access, and we loan out all equipment as needed — so there's no expense until you're sure you want to stick with the game.
A huge factor in growing children's coaching interest is parents wanting their kids to be active in a safe, secure environment. Our glass-backed courts mean you can watch coaching sessions from outside the court.

We've coached hundreds of people over the years, but the universal problem with most beginners is holding the racket wrong and getting too close to the ball. If you've felt cramped with the ball on top of you, try keeping an arm's length from it — it makes a huge difference to your game, especially in the corners.
This is one of the most important rules from a safety perspective. If you're not sure whether it's safe to play a shot after turning, the biggest clue is your opponent cowering against the wall — do not play the shot, call the let instead. If you don't want to wear goggles, within reason, never play a shot that could injure your opponent — a point in squash isn't worth an injury.
